Yoga & Meditation | Slow Flow & Yin Yoga | "Awakening into a New Season"
Join new and old like-minded friends and sangha to celebrate Spring—and awaken together into a new season!
Schedule:
1-1:30pm: Opening Circle
1:30-3pm: Slow Flow Vinyasa + XL Savasana
3-3:30pm: Break
3:30-5pm: Yin Yoga + Meditation + Intention-Setting/Reflection (Optional Journaling)
5-5:30pm: Red String Buddhist Bracelet Ceremony + Closing Circle
As we practice, we'll begin to explore concepts and imagery from one of Christy's favorite poems entitled "Becoming the Blue Lotus," from the Papyrus of Ani, Egyptian Book of the Dead.
We'll also continue to incorporate themes from our previous mini retreats, like: What are our deepest, most heartfelt intentions for ourselves and the world? And the Buddhist theme the wish-fulfilling jewel:
"Virtue is like the legendary jewel that fulfills all our wishes.
By meditating on and practicing the virtues of wisdom and compassion, we make our lives meaningful, happy and successful."
—Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche
We hope you can join us for a day of practice, contemplation and good-natured fun!
As if I'd slept a thousand years underwater, I wake into a new season. I am the Blue Lotus rising....
I am the cup of dreams and memory opening,
I, the thousand petalled flower.
At dawn the sun rises naked as a babe;
I open myself and am entered by light.
This is the joy,
the slow awakening into fire,
as one by one the petals open,
as the fingers that held tight the secret unfurl.
I let go of the past and release the fragrance of flowers....
—"Becoming The Blue Lotus," from The Papyrus of Ani,
Egyptian Book of the Dead
