Description

"A spiritual path to higher creativity."  —Julia Cameron

This 5-night women's retreat is dedicated to exploring the connection between artistic creativity and spirituality; unleashing our unlimited creative potential; and manifesting our deepest, most heartfelt desires for ourselves, the world and future generations.

Inspired by The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity, this will be a fun and restorative opportunity to nourish body, mind and spirit. Each day will include yoga, meditation, self-inquiry, delicious and healthy meals together and free time for journaling, walking and hiking in nature and pursuing one's unique creative process. But there's no requirement to produce any art! The only requirements are curiosity and an open heart.

The retreat will take place at a private home within Sea Ranch, a planned community located along a serene stretch of the Northern California coast that is celebrated for its breathtaking natural beauty and harmonious design. Set against dramatic cliffs, rolling meadows and windswept cypress trees, the area offers stunning ocean views and a peaceful, contemplative atmosphere. The architectural style, inspired by the original barns of the region, features simple, rustic forms that blend seamlessly into the landscape, using natural materials and muted colors. Visitors can enjoy abundant opportunities to view wildlife, from deer and foxes to migrating whales and seabirds. Sea Ranch occupies over 3,000 acres and features the historic Sea Ranch Chapel, a 50-mile trail system with six public beach access points and three recreation centers with outdoor pools and tennis courts.

The home, with its soaring wood-paneled ceilings and large picture windows creates a feeling of being connected to the picturesque outdoors. The location is a 5-minute stroll to Walk-On Beach, one of Sea Ranch's largest beaches, or the lovely Sea Pine Beach.

This semi-private retreat will be limited to six people. All levels are welcome.

The "Sacred Circle Rules" from The Artist’s Way (p.210):

  1. Creativity flourishes in a place of safety and acceptance.

  2. Creativity grows among friends, withers among enemies.

  3. All creative ideas are children who deserve our protection.

  4. All creative success requires creative failure.

  5. Fulfilling our creativity is a sacred trust.

From "The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom" (A Toltec Wisdom Book) by Don Miguel Ruiz

  1. Be impeccable with your word - Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.
  2. Don’t take anything personally - Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.
  3. Don’t make assumptions - Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
  4. Always do your best - Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

Guidelines for Building Creativity & Success:

  1. Violating someone’s creativity violates a sacred trust.
  2. Creative feedback must support the creative child, never shame it.
  3. Creative feedback must build on strengths never focus on weaknesses.
  4. Success occurs in clusters and is born in generosity.
  5. The good of another can never block our own.
